This few weeks we want to take you to a trip to Emilia Romagna, a region in Italy full of rich flavors, culture and wine.

收拾行囊,踏上新途。这次的目的地是艾米利亚.罗马涅大区——意大利饮食文化汇聚之地。

The capital region of Emilia Romagna is Bologna.

Surrounded by hills, famous for its historical covered walkways, that link the whole city protecting pedestrians from the rain, the city is commonly known as “the academic, the red and the fat”, lets see why.

群山环绕的博洛尼亚因其历史悠久的门廊闻名于世。长长的门廊遍布于整座城市,下雨天行人可悠然自得穿梭其中。众所周知博洛尼亚被冠以“学术之乡”“红色之都”“胖胖之城”。为啥呢?我带你一看究竟。

Bologna has been the birthplace of the oldest University in the world, founded in 1088 A.D., and the most important cultural center during history. For this reason the city is known as the “academic city”.

早在公元1088年,博洛尼亚就诞生了世界上第一所大学,并且是历史上最重要的文化中心,怎能不尊为“学术之乡”。

For what concerns “the red”, it refers both to the bricks used for towers and buildings as well as for political reasons, being Bologna well known for its communist political views.

亭台楼阁皆为红砖赤瓦,恰巧共产主义也曾在这里风靡一时,如此“红色之都”名副其实。


At last, “the fat”. Bologna is known for its delicious and rich cuisine. From appetizers to freshly made pastas, sauces, main courses and desserts, it is the cradle of some of the most famous Italian dishes.

至于“胖胖之城”,绝没有任何冒犯之意。只因博洛尼亚美食琳琅满目,想瘦,难于登天!从开胃菜、面食、酱料、主菜到甜品应有尽有,鲜香味美,垂涎不止!真正是意大利美食摇篮!


Among these, of course, the bolognese sauce (link to our delivery service). The name of this sauce itself it means “Bologna style sauce”, and the recipe is quite the dispute among the grannies of the city: each one has her little secret ingredient to make it the best in town! 

大名鼎鼎的Bolognese肉酱(点击下单)就产于此地。Bolognese本身就是“博洛尼亚风味酱”的意思。难怪这里的老祖母们“王婆卖瓜,自卖自夸”,因为她们的肉酱确实自有独门秘方!

Lasagne alla bolognese (link to our delivery service), of course, is another typical dish that cant be missed, and it uses the above mentioned sauce.

Tortellini in brodo, small pasta pockets (with the same idea as for dumplings), are typically eaten on Sundays or Christmas and prepared by loving grandmothers and served traditionally in a broth!

肉汤馄饨(点击下单),小小的面皮包裹(跟中国饺子很像)。每逢礼拜或圣诞慈爱的老祖母就用肉汤为孙儿们特别做一顿这样的美食,里面满满的祖母的爱。


The legend says that the shape of this kind of fresh pasta evokes the shape of the goddess Venus belly button: spied by a cook, he got so stuck by its perfection that tried to reproduce it inventing the tortellino! 

关于馄饨的形状,有这么一个传说:一个厨师窥视了美神维纳斯的肚脐,其完美迷人的外形让厨师不禁苦思冥想辗转反侧,于是有了今天的意大利馄饨。

Crescentine, or gnocco fritto, is another typical dish. Delicious dough sheets traditionally deep-fried in pig fat (although sometimes oil can be used instead) accompanied by cold cuts and soft cheeses.

Crescentine,又称意大利炸汤圆(点击下单),当地特色菜。传统做法是生汤圆放进猪油(也可以使用其它油)炸的老一点,佐以冷切和软奶酪,滋味妙不可言!

The traditional cuisine is hearty and simple, valuing and respecting the territorial ingredients and the way food is prepared reflects the way people are: simple and loving.
